Gelora Reminds Narratives Circulating from PKS Circles
News Every Day, - The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) is reportedly joining the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM). Responding to this discourse, the Gelora Party reminded the narrative that circulated during the 2024 presidential election.
The Secretary General of the Gelora Party, Mahfuz Sidik, warned the public about the narrative which he believed came from PKS circles.
This narrative makes an analogy that the Prophet Musa did not need to owe anything to the Pharaoh, as previously Anies Baswedan was nominated as a candidate for Governor of Jakarta in 2017 by the Gerindra Party.
Apart from that, Mahfuz revealed that PKS often spreads narratives that sow discord and divide society.
Mahfuz also gave an example, labeling Prabowo Subianto a traitor who decided to join the Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin Cabinet in 2019.
“In 2019, when Prabowo Subianto decided to make peace with Jokowi, many called him a traitor. "This criticism mainly comes from PKS supporters," he said.
He emphasized that Jokowi and Prabowo always warn against narratives that divide politics and ideology.
“This narrative risks further dividing society politically and ideologically. "However, President Jokowi and presidential candidate Prabowo often remind this," he said.
Previously, PKS Secretary General Aboe Bakar Alhabsyi expressed his party's political stance towards the incoming government.
"If you understand the signs and gestures, you will definitely understand," said Aboe at the PKS Head Office, South Jakarta, Saturday (27/4/2024).
Even so, Aboe did not clearly state his party's political steps, especially considering that his coalition partners, the NasDem Party and the National Awakening Party (PKB), had already expressed their political stance.
Regarding PKS's relationship with Prabowo, he said their communication was good with the General Chair of the Gerindra Party, even though they were not on the same axis in the 2024 presidential election.
"We have had a relationship with Prabowo for a long time, so it's not difficult," said Aboe.
He also mentioned that there would be a meeting between PKS and Prabowo in the near future. However, he was still reluctant to reveal when the meeting would take place. *
